Mackenzie Lutz (She/Her) is a Midwestern based costume technician and cosplayer. Even as a child, Mackenzie explored every possible opportunity to be creative and make art. Among her many creative hobbies, she took a special liking to building costumes and decided to pursue it as a career. In her time at DePaul, Mackenzie not only grew as a person and team member, but she was granted many opportunities to expand her skill repertoire and make many crazy projects. Her time at DePaul gave her experience as a stitcher, first hand, draper, and craftsperson which let her see the work of many disciplines within the costume field. Her goal is to open her own shop for selling costume pieces, prosthetics, and all kinds of oddities. She also plans to continue working with, and eventually take over her family's business Halloween-Mask.com.
Some of her most notable work while at DePaul is the crafts she did for children's shows Las Wavys, Tall Enough, and Squirrel Girl Goes to College. She created pieces like non-human appendages, from squirrel tails to tentacle arms, and yarn clown wigs.
Outside of her work in theatre, Mackenzie has been creating her own cosplays for over 10 years. In 2018 she and her friends entered into Anime Milwaukee's Masquerade cosplay contest. The thrilling experience has encouraged her to better her skills even more so that she may compete in more cosplay contests and win.
